So I know I will probably get a lot of hate for this since it seems like everyone and their mother love SAO. I just don’t, (sorry) the first 12 episodes are this amazing wonderland of exploring a world I know nothing about, meeting interesting characters, fighting scary monsters, and overall excitement. That gets followed up by some Tsundere living in a cottage bullshit.
I would like to make one thing clear SAO as a whole is a bad anime. If you took the first 12 episodes made that 1 show then cool that would probably be a great anime that I would rank up there with the likes of No Game No Life. (Im still holding out for season 2) Unfortunately it was ruined by the episodes 13-24 and the subsequent sequel. The last 12 episodes of season 1 just feel out of place, what happened to beating the game? or maybe finding a way out of the game? You know cause like you die in the game you die in real life! The whole daughter thing is kinda weird too.
Then finally once he saves his girlfriend in the game, he decides he has time to flirt with his sister (incest is wincest) instead of saving his “wife.” Who is most likely at this point is going to be murdered. Then some how he manages to get to the hospital at the same time as the dude who drove there…
Season 2 is just beyond confusing, “excuse me I know you just got out of a game where you were constantly in danger of dying in real life, but would you like to go in another one?” and Kirito is like “yeah sure no problem anything for you sunglasses man.” If it was me I would be like “NOOOOO NOOOONONONONOONO!”
I don’t know about anyone else, but the whole girl with AIDS story arch just seem unrealistic…yes I understand its anime and the concept of dying in a video game is unrealistic. Its just like if they are living in a society where a pair of glasses plugged into an Ethernet port are enough to put my entire consciousness in a video game, why isnt there a cure for AIDS? Even today in present time there are people with AIDS who live relatively normal lives. Plus the whole AIDS thing is kind of a blind side. I think cancer would have been a better life threatening disease to pick.
Anyway let me know what your opinions are in the comments! I would love to know what others people think. As always thank you for reading!
